Halloween Night in Brewster, NY is fast becoming a local tradition! Our beautiful village was once again transformed from tranquil to terrifying for a few hours, with hundreds of eager young trick or treaters enjoying the crisp October air, looking for candy and maybe a good fright.
Many houses on Prospect and Center Streets were decorated in the seasonís finery, including a few new displays! Brewster Villageís beautiful old homes provided the perfect backdrop for this wonderful community event.
Brewster Yard Haunt (now ending our 6th spooky year), had the distinction of being filmed for television, news and print, which helped get the word our about our fund and food raising endevour, Cans for Candy. This year we collected over $150 and 515 lbs of dried and non-perishable food for our local food pantry!
We had visitors from all over Putnam County, Western CT and even a couple who drove 8 hours from Virginia! Once again, this yearís weather cooperated and none of our props were destroyed or damaged by either wind nor vandal.
On behalf of Brewster Yard Haunt, Laurie Manning, Dennis and Deborah Saraceno and Danielle Cylich, I wish to thank all of our haunters, guests, web site visitors and neighbors for helping make 2007 a very scary, special and fun night!
